Each day our oceans are becoming more and more polluted.

From oil waste and large amounts of plastic garbage our oceans are getting dirtier than ever. It's becoming a major problem that we need to confront, and we need to consider it quickly.

Boyan Slat, a 20-year-old boy has taken it upon himself to tackle the major issue.

His plan is to place enormous floating barriers in rotating tidal locations around the globe (called gyres), and let the garbage naturally flow into the structure.

Traditional nets are not going to be use; which avoids putting wildlife at risk. Instead, he plans to deploy the V-shaped buffers, anchored by floating booms.

Watch the below video for more details about his innovation.
